Jacob Purcell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker whose therapeutic approach blends evidence-based structure with creative, individualized care. His clinical focus includes men’s mental health, LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy, addiction recovery, and support for individuals experiencing grief, anxiety, depression, and sudden life changes.
Jacob’s work is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and enriched by his background in literature, writing, mindfulness, and artistic reflection. This combination helps clients explore meaning, identity, and emotional resilience. His style is both practical and reflective—grounded in clinical training and guided by curiosity, creativity, and compassion.
Before earning his Master’s degree in Social Work, Jacob completed a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, spending years exploring the role of creative expression in healing and personal growth. He also brings five years of experience with Family Services, where he supported families and individuals in crisis. During graduate training, his work emphasized care for youth impacted by foster care and individuals navigating high-stress environments, shaping a practice that is trauma-informed, empathetic, and affirming.
Outside the therapy room, Jacob draws inspiration from travel, nature, and the creative arts, all of which continue to inform his holistic, person-centered approach. He is known for providing a calm and collaborative space where individuals can build effective coping strategies and reconnect with their inner strength.
